CHETANA ON 29th MARCH 2010 WITH COMMUNITY MAPPING

Dear All

It is the time to move more closure to the community for providing service to the people at community itself. In this direction, CF has shown interest and made efforts in understanding the SWOT of the community.

SWOT is the process to understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats  of the community or system or product or channel to plan for its improvement or to resolve the challenge or issue.

In the direction of disability, CF made initiation in mapping the community covering:

  • strengths,
  • weaknesses,
  • opportunities,
  • threats,
... in terms of its challenges, skills, resources and vulnerability.

With the participation of the stakeholders and team of professionals from CF could map the selected communities and informed the participants and parents of the PWDs about the challengers, resources, skills and plans of moving forward. This was well appreciated and got acceptance to move forward.

Hoping to share more in this direction...

ACTS, SCHEMES & BENEFITS FOR THE PWDs - 24th FEB 2010

Dear All

In view of the changes in the disability conventions all over the world, UNCRPD is the key convention which we all needs to understand and act for its best implementation.

This talks mainly on the rights of the persons with disabilities and makes paradigm shit in the concept of the disability itself. We will be sharing on this key subject in due course of time.

On this day, orientation was made on the existing disability acts, schemes & benefits applicable for PWDs in India. Created awareness among the stakeholders covering: parents, siblings, family members, community members,  teachers and other grass root workers.

The participants felt happy over the concept and concern of CF and shown keen interest for enrollment and utilization of various schemes and benefits.

This attitude and indication made all to move forward for the better living of the targeted groups.

All the best

COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAMME DURING 26TH TO 29TH APRIL 2009

Dear All,

Chetana initiated a good beginning in the year 2009-2010 by conducting community based programmes for 4 days.

To reach the un-reached patens and children with disabilities, conducted the home based programme covering the selected slums and rural parts of Hyderabad & Ranga Reddy Districts.

It includes: identification, assessment, benefits, what can be done at home, need of special education and other related issues.

This helped the team to reach numbers of parents, children, teachers, volunteers and community members who got motivated to get better services.

This has given a scope for the teachers and parents to feel realistic in understanding the challenges and possible solutions. This has added flavour to the parents and other community members to approach the Panchayat (PRI) for making the disability issue as a developmental activity rather than welfare.

With this positive attitude, Chetana feel proud and commits to move forward with better sustainable strategies & interventions.

In this journey, Chetana needs support from all the stakeholders. Chetan will be happy to provide addition information including presentations on its services..

Chetana express thanks for the supporters & well wishers and hope for its continuation...

Looking forward for better participation...

MILE STONE OF CHETANA FOUNDATION 3RD NOVEMBER 2004

Dear All

It is the mile stone in the lives of the people concerned for the cause and vision of  Chetana Foundation which came into existence legally. We all need to congratulate our selves for making a good beginning.

Its genesis is quite interesting to note that the limitation of having a child with mental retardation has been transformed into strength with the sole aim of  working for several such children.

Some of its specific aims and objectives include:

o       To take steps for rendering medical and other services for helping the persons with disabilities in general and particularly mental retardation.
o       To undertake innovative and experimental projects in urban and rural development with focus on up-liftment of weaker sections.
o       T o involve the full and active participation of the community in their own developmental activities and to create greater awareness in the people.
o       To provide more vocational trainings in tailoring, computers, soft toys making covering both rural and slum areas.
o       Other services and activities suiting to the aims and objectives of the Organization.

Tuning to the need and use of technology, Chetana has initiated this blog to be with the stakeholders and share the experiences, success stories, programmes, acts, guidelines, schemes, benefits and  other issues needed to work for the empowerment of the targeted people with better sustainability and quality of life (QOL).

Looking forward to post more and more on this blog and to get reflections & suggestions for framing and delivering the services and supports.
