CELEBRATIONS OF REPUBLIC DAY 2015

Dear All

Chetana has Celebrated the Republic Day on 26th Jan 2015 in the School with the participation of PWIDDs, Parents, Teachers, Management and other Well Wishers. 

The General Secretary has hoisted the National Flag and stressed the need to work for the INDEPENDENT LIVING of the PWIDDs with need based solutions.    

All the participants felt happy and assured to be part of the process of Rehabilitation with effective dissemination so that more such groups can be reached.

SARASWATHI PUJA BY THE CHILDREN AND PARENTS AT CHETANA ON 24TH JAN 2015

Dear All

Chetana has made a tradition of involving the Children and their parents in the Saraswathi Puja on 24th Jan 2015 at its Special School. 

Every one has participated and prayed the Goddess SWARASWATHI to give value based education for the PWIDDs so that they can be empowered to lead an independent living with improved quality of life (QOL). 

This has been appreciated by the surrounding community members who joined the Puja later.

YOUTH FOR SEVA HAS VISITED CHETANA ON 23RD JAN 2015

Dear All

In continuation to our participation & paper presentation made at the Workshop jointly organized by Tech for Seva  & Youth for Seva at Hyderabad during December 2014, the team from Youth for Seva has visited Chetana Special School on 23rd Jan 2015. 

This has helped the team to assess the strengths, services, training, rehabilitation, & impact made by the team of professionals at Chetana. It helped further to know the need of the targeted groups and to plan supporting the same.  

This is the positive step towards the connectivity with the Corporate for technology with supports under the head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and to be at wider forums. 

The PWIDDs, Parents, Staff & Management of Chetana have expressed satisfaction and thanks to the team.

VISIT BY UNITED WAY OF HYDERABAD ON 21 JAN 2015

Dear All

In continuation to our participation in 10k Run organized by united way of Hyderabad during November 2014, Ms. Tejeswai Prasad, Project Consultant of UWH has visited our School on 2`1st Jan 2015 and interacted with the Children and Parents. 

She made an inquiry about eh process of training and Rehabilitation extended to the PWIDDs and felt happy to see the products made by this group. 

She assured for the continuity in all its future programmes / activities / supports.

NETWORKING WITH NGOs AND VISIT TO OLD AGED HOME - ANANDA NILAYAM

Dear All

As part of networking, Chetana has utilized this opportunity to collaborate or join with other organizations.  During this visit, it made a difference in its approach & concern which include:

1. Had an opportunity to tie up with CMR Schools, Bowenpally, Hyderabad (our strong supporter) for making this visit by utilizing their transport.    

2. To see and share with the inmates and management of Ananda Nilayam, an Old Aged Home, Near to Siddipet so that the concept of developing Life Care Center for the PWIDDs  with or with out their parents  + Senior Citizens can be made into a reality. 

This process has given a real filed experience for the team members of Chetana and it is in the process of making a document cum Detailed Project Report (DPR) both for approval and to get supports.

PARENT'S MEET IN OPEN ENVIRONMENT

Dear All

Chetana has arranged for Parent's Meet with difference in outside the School. All the Parent's felt the change and relaxed to be part of the environment. 

Some of the points discussed are as follows:

1. Need of getting the Vehicle for better Transportation;

2. Acquiring of Land for the Society for better stability;

3. Process of developing Life Care Centers along with Parents (combination of Old Aged Home cum Life Care Center for PWIDDs); 

4. Vocational Training and creation of Livelihoods; and 

5. Other issues for getting the schemes / benefits / supports / aids & appliances etc.

This sort of meet has enhanced the confidence of the Parents and got motivated to have more such meets.

OUTING FOR THE PWIDDs

Dear All

Chetana has arranged for a Picnic cum Outing for the PWIDDs along with their Parents. The coverage during this visit includes: SARASWATHI TEMPLE, OLD AGED HOME, & VENKATESWARA TEMPLE. It was pleasant and the group has enjoyed a lot with people, environment and sharing their feelings with difference. 

This concept & concern of taking the children outside has been appreciated by the Pilgrims, Organizers, Visitors and others. The Photo View looks as follows:

CHETANA IS PLANNING FOR PICNIC ON 18TH JAN 2015

Dear All

Chetana is planning to have a outing cum picnic with its Children, Parents, Staff and Well Wishers on 18th January 2015 to ANANDA NILAYAM, an Old Aged Home situate near to Siddipet.   

It is the part of networking with other Service Providers with better connectivity.  

This visit also given an opportunity for Chetana to move forward with one of its future vision of establishing a Center for the Old Aged People and Persons with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (PEIDDs) so that the mutual benefits can be derived for both the groups under a single roof.   

We will be posting more details after the completion of visits.

NEEDS OF PWIDDs AT CHETANA

The Persons with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (PWIDDs) getting Training & Rehabilitation Services have got some specific needs to get empowered as:

   

The PWIDDs are looking forward to get the need based supports from the Government, Corporate, Funding Agencies, Banks, Financial Institutes, and other Stakeholders. 

Chetan will be happy to provide additional information including presentations in support of its training, rehabilitation and process of empowerment for the given opportunity.

SWAMY VIVEKANANDA JAYAMTHI CELEBRATIONS AT CHETANA ON 12TH JAN 2015

Dear All

Celebrated the Swamy Vivekananda Jayanthi in the School in the presence of Children, Parents, Teachers, Volunteers, Well Wishers and Guests. 

Programme started with the Prayer song and lighting the Lamp. The Guests spoken about the key messages from the life of Swamy Vivikananda which needs to be followed for better health & wealth of the people in general and particularly the children with special needs who are getting training under the banner of Chetana.

Later had an interactive session with the parents and came out with some innovative products which will be done under Chetana.

BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF SWAMY VIVEKANANDA WITH WELL WISHERS MEET ON 12TH JAN 2015

Dear All

Chetana is planning to Celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Swamy Vivekanada on 12th January 2015 at its School. 

Along with the Children, Parents & Community Members, it is also inviting its Supporters & Well Wishers on this occasion so we all together take a oath to rededicate for serving the people with concern & commitment. 

It suits to its plan of expansion by establishing a Home for the Senior Citizens so that both groups needs can be resolved with mutual benefit. This is the model where it wants to work with innovation & creativity.

Chetana needs guidance, facilitation, sharing and supports so that it can move forward with need based services. 

More will be posted in due course of time with better clarity and visuals.

CHETANA'S RESOLUTIONS FOR THE YEAR 2015

Dear All

In consultation with its Parents, Teachers, management and Well Wishers, Chetana took some decisions to implement during the year 2015 which include:

1. Regular Meets with the parents & Well Wishers ones or twice in each and every month;

2. Better Connectivity with the Supporters and other Well Wishers by inviting one on each occasion;

3. Bringing out News Letter on Quarterly basis with better sharing and dissemination;

4. Better dissemination of its services and impact by way of  papers in the selected Journals;

5. Mobilization of Resources by way of : LAND; VEHICLE; MACHINERY; PROJECTS; 

6. Other need based decisions from time to time. 

To reach these noble targets, Chetana needs supports from all the Departments of Government, Private, Corporate, Banks, Corporations, Funding Agencies, Foundations, Trusts, and other Stakeholders.

CHETANA IS MOVING FORWARD FOR PUBLICATIONS

Dear All

In continuation to its publication of Decade Souvenir 2014 which is the first evidence based publication, Chetana is planning to publish papers on its services and impact created. 

It has shown keen interest to present papers at Seminars / Workshops and presented its first paper at the Workshop organized by tech for Seva during 12-13th December 2014 held at Gachibowli, Hyderabad. 

It is in the process of preparing the paper entitled "Livelihoods for the Empowerment of PWIDDs...." and more will be posted in due course of time.

PARENTS GATHERING ON NEW YEAR 2015

Dear All

On 2nd January 2015, had a Parents gathering and had fun of exchanging their views, difficulties and future plans to move forward for better solutions. This was a better way of meeting the group as a BIG FAMILY with specific concern & commitment. 

Discussed various other options for creating need based livelihoods with the effective participation of their children both at HOME & INSTITUTE.
