In many ways, 2012-2013 is special for the Chetana which include:

 It will have its annual meet and will finalize its future plans.

NEED OR EARLY IDENTIFICATION ADN EARLY INTERVENTION

Dear All

Chetana has gained experience and expertize in in handling the needs of the children with special needs.

In this process, one of the key barrier or limitation  Chetana could find is the "delay in identification".  

In most of the cases, the children comes to the School at the age of 10 or above. 

By this time, the adverse in mobility, behavioural & social issues gets accumulated and further complicates with secondary disabilities. With these delays, the expected results of the training & rehabilitation are very much limited.

Out of this experience, Chetana made strategies to work for early identification and early interventions (EI & EI) by community mapping. It has made some plans to implement this programmes with the effective participation of the parents and community workers. 

More will be posted on this key issue so that EI & EI  can be made effective   to reach the unreached children with special needs....

CHETANA IS LOOKING FOR RESOURCES AND SUPPORT.

Dear All,

Based on the earlier postings, Chetana is doing good work in training and rehabilitating the children with mental retardation and other associated disabilities. 

The results are effective with participatory approaches and moving forward for specialization and to reach more such children. As most of the children comes from poor families, they could not afford for the cost of the rehabilitation and thus solely depending on the resource of Chetana itself. 

at present Chetana is not getting any support form the Government and depend on the donations only.

Under these circumstances, Chetana is looking forward to mobilize resources matching to the needs of the groups it is working.

Please support Chetana is achieving its vision, mission and objectives so the children with special needs can be empowered to be part of th community as a contributing member.

CHETANA WITH NIRAMAYA

Dear All

Chetana has done significant work in enrolling, opening of bank accounts, getting the card and utilization of the NIRAMAYA - an Health Scheme of  the National Trust, Government of India, New Delhi. 

This work in commendable and appreciated by the parents and community members.

In addition,  Chetana is facilitating others to go for such benefit as it the real needy and effectively at all stages. 

It will posting more updates on this from time to time for effective dissemination, enrollment, and utilization which improves their health and mobility to take the best advantages of the training & rehabilitation.
