PARENTS' MEET & SPORTS MEET WITH JCI 365 ON 31ST JULY 2013 AT CHETANA

Chetana has organized Paretns' Meets at its School. On the same day, JCI 365, Secunderabad has conducted the Sports for the Children with special needs. The Organizers has appreciated the skills of the children and efforts of the Teams.

CHETANA IS MOVING TOWARDS EARLY IDENTIFICATION & EARLY INTERVENTION

Dear All

In view of the increase in disability population with more of Intellectual Disabilities, Chetana is strengthening its process of Early Identification & Early Intervention through Community Based Rehabilitation. 

The Early Screening of the Children with Birth Defects / Disabilities is gaining the priority.

In this direction Chetana needs support from the concerned Departments and other stakeholders.

More will be posted on this process in due course of time so that sharing can be done effectively.

CHETANA IS MOVING WITH COMMUNITY BASED REHABILITATION

In continuation to its efforts, Chetana is moving forward to reach more children with special needs at their Community itself. It is in the process of formalizing the process of Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) which is effective in terms of cost, time and adaptability.  

In this direction, Chetana will be happy to join hands with the other community groups to reach such children.

CHETANA IS IN PROCESS OF ESTABLISHING RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES

In continuation to its earlier postings made, Chetana is in the process of mobilizing accommodation and other resources for initiating the Residential Facilities for the Children with Mental Retardation and other associated disabilities.

In this direction, the children at Chetana needs support from all the Departments, Donors and other stakeholders.

MOBILIZATION FOR AIDS & APPLIANCES FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Dear All

Based on the needs of the children, Chetana is trying its best to network with the Government and Private Institutes for getting the required Aids & Appliances. In the beginning it has met the IPH, Hyderabad to get the support and it is the process to get more supports. 

More will be posted on this process in due course of time with visuals. 

Looking forward to gt more such support from other agencies and individuals.

RESOURCE MOBILIZATION

Dear All

As indicated by its team & Parents of the Chetana Special School, needs matching resources for running the training & rehabilitation services to its target groups. At present it is running with the local support and its continuity has become difficult. 

Some of the requirements of the Chetana Special School are as follows:

• Sponsorship of the children T & R
• Furniture
• Aids & Appliances
• Running Grant
• Computer System
• School Van
• Land for constructing School Building
• Other matching resources.    

Chetana is coordinating with the Concern India Foundation (CIF), Hyderabad to get the grant support for running the Vocational Training Center for the Persons with Mental Retardation. More will be posted on this process.

In addition  Chetana needs support from other agencies to reach more such children with special needs both quantitatively and qualitatively. 

Chetana makes appeal through this forum for getting the matching resources so that the persons with special needs can be empowered for leading better living in an inclusive community.

PARENTS MEET AT CHETANA

Dear all

It has started the Academic Year 2013 - 2014 and organized the Parents Meet on 18th June at its Special School.  The interaction was very participatory and got motivated to move forward. 

Come of the issues discussed during this meeting were as follows:

• Disability Certification
• Pension
• Bus Pass
• Aid & Appliances
• Legal Guardinship
• Enrollment and Utilization of NIRAMAYA
• Need of Residential Facilities
• Development of Vocational Training Center
• Creation of Livelihoods
• Loan Facilities
• Other concerns with their wards. 

This forum has given a chance to get clarification and the ways to rehabilitate their wards.

With this postie note, parents has assured their support to be part of the Rehabilitation Center for doing the needful.
