CHETANA WITH THE CONFERENCE OF CIPS ON 20TH APRIL

Dear All

In continuation to the earlier posting, the team from Chetana has attended the conference organized by CIPS on the eve of "Civil Services Day" and interacted with the delegates from various sections.

The presentations made in the conference covers: health, education, and other social issues in reference with its "Service Delivery Systems (SDSs)".

The system of public services is mostly lucrative, power and business oriented and  thus enable to reach the people with need based services / supports / solutions. 

Some role models have been  presented who have shown the way to reach the people with values and systems. 

It was ended with message to the younger generation that the public services should be oriented to reach the poor and marginalized with livelihoods so that their development will be sustained with improved quality of life in an inclusive environment. 

Looking forward to disseminate this message through Chetana so that  the children at Chetana (PWIDDs) will be empowered for leading an independent living with improved quality of life.

Centre for Innovations in Public Systems in association with the Government of Andhra Pradesh is conducting a Two Day Programme on 20th & 21st of April, 2015 in connection with the Civil Services Day Celebrations. 

There will be a panel discussion on various issues relating to the enhancement of services as also accountability of Civil Servants on Monday, 20th of April, 2015 at O/o CIPS, Rd.No.3 Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

CHETANA AT CSR CONFERENCE ON 10TH APRIL 2015

As planned earlier, the team from Chetana has participated in the CSR Conference organized by the CII and UNESCO in Hyderabad on 10th April 2015.  

We interacted with the Corporate and NGOs for sharing, dissemination, networking, facilitation, and to get required supports for the Training, Rehabilitation and Livelihoods creation as an Empowerment of the Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (PWIDDs). 

The whole day presentations, activities, and discussions are very much effective and useful.

CHETANA WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN THE CONFERENCE ON CSR ON 10TH APRIL 2015

In continuation to its interest in attending the Seminars / Workshops / Conferences, Chetana will be participating in the Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility to be held on 10th April 2015 at Hyderabad. This is organized by the CII and UNICEF.

It is good opportunity for Chetana to share and disseminate the work done and to get supports under CSR.

ABSTRACT

Disability is the barrier and affects the health and wealth of the targeted people. Disability, Poverty and Development works as a cause and consequence of each other and further deepens the poverty with vulnerabilities which lower their quality of life. Among the person with disabilities, persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities are the most affected as they need services and supports on life cycle basis. The increase in disability population is alarming the government and other stakeholders for providing need based interventions, training and rehabilitation so that an attempt can be made to make them part of the inclusive community as contributing member. The task is very much dynamic and government do have some limitations in reaching all the targeted groups. In view of these limitations civil society organizations that are very near to the groups can bridge the gap. SWOT Analysis reflects that the improved coordination between the government and CSOs on the basis of DIME Model works effectively for the empowerment of the groups which includes the prevention of disability and creation of barrier free environment. An attempt has been made for the organizational development of CSOs. Chetana Foundation is the registered voluntary service organization working for the empowerment of the persons with mental retardation other associated disabilities has made a significant impact with difference. The service journey of Chetana works as a good case study for the stakeholders to fallow and strengthen other service providers with better capacities.

WORLD AUTISM DAY 2015 AT CHETANASmt. Gopu Vasundhara Maohan and Shri Mohan

Dear All

As posted earlier. celebrated the World Autism Day 2015 at Chetana Special School in the presence of Children, Parents, Staff, Management, Well Wishers and other supporters.  

The Secretary and Advisers presented the view of Chetana dna importance of the day. 

The Chief Guest of the day Smt. Gopu Vasundhara Mohan has stressed the need of identifying such children as early as possible.

She appreciated the efforts made by the Chetana and Parents for training and rehabilitation such children with need based solutions.
